Saints Gone Wild?

By Jesus E. Lopez

It all started at the city of Verona. Where two households, Montague and Capulet, hated each other for a classified reason. With a resent death of their beloved children, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. The police say that apparently Romeo died from poison and Juliet is the most unusual case, she was dead and the next day her corpse was found on top of Romeo's corpse with his dagger in her heart. Now we will go further in the story to find hidden secrets. Secrets that will uncover unexpected things.

Romeo a son of the Montague was about 17 when he died. Romeo was a young spirited guy who seemed to like having fun. He had just broken up with Rosaline a Capulet. She must of not thought of him as a good boyfriend for she had broken his heart and was never heard of again. His best friend was Mercutio he took good care of Romeo but did not always know how to help him.He lost his life trying, some may think this was Romeos fault, even Mercutio was raged that this happened to him and blamed the two households.

Juliet a daughter of the Capulet was only 12 when she died. Was just previously proposed marriage by Paris a very rich man, but she did not have feelings for him. She was raised by the Nurse who was loyal to the Capulet's and supported Juliet in most of her decisions. The Nurse treated Juliet as her own daughter, after all she is the one that raised her.

We went further down in the investigation and we had surprising answers from the Nurse of the Capulet household. When we asked her what she knew of Romeo's and Juliet's relationship she said,"They truly loved each other, no one else knows that they got married but me and the Friar. Oh the poor thing, when Juliet found out that Romeo was banished she would not stop crying. I tried to sheer her up, to take her mind off Romeo. Seeing the case I tried to convince her to marry Paris, after all it was most certain that she would never see Romeo again." Then came another question, could this have anything to do with Juliet dying the very next day? The Nurse responded "I certainly hope not! I am sure no one killed her other wise her body would of been wounded from a weapon. She is to weak to commit suicide she is still a little girl, she would of dreamed of having a longer life."

So all we learned was that Romeo and Juliet secretly got married with the help of the Friar and the Nurse but how did Romeo find out his wife died? To answer this question we headed to the Montague's and asked Balthasar. His responds was," I saw Juliet's funeral then went to find Romeo and tell him, after all he still loved her very much. At night we came back to the cemetery, I would not dare go in the vault were she lay so I waited outside for Romeo as he went in. After a while I saw the most unexpected person to find in the cemetery at night, the Friar. He did not see me, he was in a rush to go in the vault. Then again he came out he looked frightened and left. It all got to suspicious so I decided to take a look and that is when I found Romeo and Juliet dead. So I reported it to the authorities."

The Prince has announced that there is no punishment to the households other than the loss of Romeo and Juliet. The accused for this crime is none other than the holy Friar! He must of plotted something, all the evidence from the testimonies given by the Nurse and Balthasar lead to him. He married Romeo and Juliet in secret when he all ready knew that their family's were rivals. He never announced the wedding if he wanted peace he would of said something and not risk his connection to the households. He went to the cemetery and left the crime scene as if he did something. Why did he go in there in the first place? Did he know Romeo was going to see Juliet? If he did what was his plan? The more questions there are the guiltier he looks. He had the perfect set up, who would suspect a friar to do such crime. It seems as if the Fair,a trusted man, a holy man, turned into a crazy criminal. Will he find a way to demonstrate his innocence or is he a dead man? I guess time will tell.

Euthanasia Good or Bad?

I honestly don't feel that "mercy" killing is the best way to end someones life. I believe that we should follow our own fate and not let others decide for us. How do you think you would feel if someone kills you with out your consent is that considered murder. How about if the person that has the choice is too anguished to make the right decision. Sometimes the ones stuck with that decision can be ominous and not care about the person. There are many factors that can affect how we think, that is why I believe that humans are not capable of doing the right decisions. If the person insists on you pulling the plug then that is their choice. I would feel that we should respect their decision even if it hurts others. If the injured person said to you to pull the plug in a morosely manner I had to say that person is having secound thoughts of still living. Now if they say it in a imperious manner I am sure they would want you to end their suffering and if you retort I am sure you are just making them angrier.

1a. Explain George's perspective for what he did to Lennie. -George probably killed Lennie because he felt it was better for Lennie. George must of felt that Lennie was a burden that he did not want to carry anymore.

1b. Do you think that was the best thing to do for Lennie? -I do think it was the best thing to do. If I was in his shoes I would be really exasperated having to take care of Lennie and always running away.

2a.A simple reason for the euthanasia that the father in Italy did is that the daughter wanted that to happen. As it says in the text,"Late last year, 67-year-old Beppino Englaro, won an intense 10-year legal battle to allow his daughter's feeding tubes to be removed, saying that was her wish."

2b.I do think that was the best thing if she wished for it. There is evidence that she wanted that other wise the court would of accepted. "The court accepted that before the accident, his daughter had expressed a preference for dying over being kept alive artificially."

2c.I do not believe the father should be aloud to choose to keep some one alive or not. In this case I do agree Since he had permission from her dauther.

3. Man Kills Family after Losing his Job

a. Imagine and list things that might have been going through the father's mind as he contemplated his "mercy" killing. (In the article, the father's suicide note gives specific evidence of why he did what he did. Elaborate on it.) Specifically, what could he have been negative or paranoid about?

-He probably felt the money was his life and without it he had no life. The father must of been to desperate that he was blind of the truth. There can be a way with no money it will be hard but there is a way.

b. Unfortunately, with America's failing economy, many professionals are losing their jobs. While many do not resort to something as extreme as the man in the article, it does cause stress within families. What are some ways that parents can support children (to succeed in life) that do NOT require money?

-The first thing I can think of is for parents to support their children in school. You know what people say "knoledge is the key to life". Another thing could be to show kids that family is the most important thing there is and not money. There are other things that can help but I think these are the most important.
